ohh my family once tried that "present limit per person" and god...@.@ it was a total failiure, it made us christmas so depressive that they needed to invent another rule "presents for everybody" in new year's party, just to make up for christmas, i thank them for not getting new "good ideas for making this chistmas better..."

I can just imagine...
haha...this year i made blanket statement of NO PRESENTS. im not getting anyone presents except my mom, dad, brother, and sister(maybe...i dont really want too..cuz im evil like that)
but no presents for friends. im bringing in a box of candy canes and thats that!! im way to poor to be buying gifts. well im not to poor, i just sold some work to mi madres office...but if i buy gifts..i will get poor!
hehe...but if any of my buddies wanna get me a gift im all for it^_^
I like Christmas, although I prefer calling it Yule (I always forget tho' ^^; am not into the whole birth-of-Christ-thing anyway, so... doesn't really matter what I call it, right? *coughhypocritecough*). It would make me happy if people would give each other a break with their issues for a bit - some people celebrate for religious reasons, some because it's tradition; it should not matter. Maybe if there was a rule for how many presents you were allowed to buy ^.^ - one per person, say. (And if you wanted, you could buy more presents at other times of the year - no one's gonna stop you ^^). The best part about Yule is the free time, the food and the tree (if you have one). Yay for winter break!
I would be so proud of myself if I stopped celebrating Yule altogether, but then again, what would be the point? Ah, as an act of rebellion and a statement against conformism, I shall not attend church tomorrow (technically last day of school - but we have no school!). Atheist I am and shall remain . At any rate, I would appreciate it if people stopped taking Yule/Christmas so seriously.
Personally, I'm a Jewish atheist, and so don't celebrate Christmas on two counts. However, I do write cards/buy presents for work colleagues/friends, and receive them also. Within the family, we buy each other presents, but that's about as far as it goes. We used to have a tree and decorations (including a little Star of David to hang on it ^_^), but got rid of them when we moved to South Africa and never bothered replacing them when we moved back. We do like to cook a big meal on Christmas day, though I attribute this largely to the fact that we a) enjoy cooking and b) enjoy the results!
you know.. my friend and i, we decided to keep our presents simple or so i thought.. all of a sudden she calls and says "so i was thinking, for your christmas gift, i'm going to get you a camera phone" i was like yes... this is a reason why i DON'T want to do christmas gift exchange and stuff... unfortunately, too late for that now.. So i gotta figure out what i should get her now? ::Frustrated::
but on the other hand, my buddie of mine, who is open to yaoi is going to take me to a gay bar. hehe.. ::mind wondering off:: ok ok i shouldn't get side tracked. but i'm looking very forward to my visit to the bar! soo i guess it balances it out?
